Counting business days correctly means skipping weekends and the holidays that matter to your team. This calculator does both — and explains how to use the result for deadlines, SLAs and payroll.
Jump straight into the matching tool — your inputs stay private to your device.
By default, a business day is any Monday–Friday. Many businesses also exclude national holidays (US federal, UK bank, EU country-specific). The calculator lets you add custom holidays so the result matches your operating calendar.
When to use business days vs calendar days
Use business days for delivery commitments, SLA windows, invoice terms (Net 7/15/30) and payroll periods. Use calendar days for leases, subscriptions and anything billed continuously.
Common workflows
Project deadline (start + N business days), SLA breach calculation, payroll period range, invoice due date, employee onboarding milestones. Pair with the project deadline tool when you need a delivery date instead of a count.
